The machine ate my bankcard ... & other last minute hiccups

The last week. So much to do. M frantically still writing his paper for publication and working on a funding proposal. House still needs rotten weatherboards finished. Packing. Interstate wedding on the weekend we leave. Clean house for housesitter.

Here's some random snippets which give an impression of our week.
Wed. evening, 8.30, M to J: "Don't suppose you've seen my passport recently? I thought I put it somewhere so I wouldn't lose it."

Wed. evening, 9.30 J to Pammy on phone: "Looks like I might need a new travelling companion."

Thurs. lunchtime, M, on phone to J, at work: "I went to the bank to check that my cards all work, and the machine ate my keycard."

Thurs. lunchtime, M, again on phone to J: "Don't suppose you know the pin numbers for my ATM?"

Thurs. evening after work, J at checkout: "No, we don't own a cattery, we're just going away for a while", as I pay for 2 apples, 2l. milk, 1 container of fish food, and 60 cans of cat food.

Fri. morning, after we realise that we haven't had any confirmation of our Palermo booking from Gandolfo (!!) and send off another email: "I see you at ferry. The room she is yours."

Fri. afternoon, in car as we head off to Canberra for wedding, J to M: "Oh, I forgot to pick up my dress for the wedding."

Sun. evening, as we try to checkin online and print off boarding passes, M to computer: "**** PRINT"

Please, please put me on the plane, quick!

P.S. It was a lovely wedding.
